Report: £17m man firmly on Liverpool radar; Arteta remains keen too
Liverpool and Arsenal are both firmly in the hunt for Portuguese midfielder, Renato Sanches, according to reports this weekend.
The former Swansea City loanee has been outstanding in France with Lille in the last 12 months. Ever since completing a £, he’s hit the sort of form many predicted when he was a youngster.
He’s carried that form into the Euros as well, and now, in France have claimed that both Liverpool and Arsenal want him.

Arsenal have been linked for a while. Just last week it was claimed that Sanches was on the radar of Mikel Arteta. Liverpool, meanwhile, have been hovering but seem to have upped the ante in recent weeks.
Lille are expected to turn a profit on Sanches if they do well. His excellent Euros has seen widespread reports of a fee of around £35m mentioned.
Wijnaldum replacement
Liverpool need to replace the outgoing Wijnaldum, despite some suggestings Klopp could stick with that he has. The Dutchman was key, so simply not bringing someone in would be risky.
Sanches is the man they want, it seems. And it caps quite the rise for the young midfielder in fairness. Anyone who saw him with Swansea would have questioned whether he’d ever get back to England.
But a bit of confidence, and a bit of good form has seen him get right back into the mix. If ever there was a time for him to move and banish those Swansea demons, then it’s now.
