Liverpool supporters excited as Adrian offers update on freak injury
Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has told the that he is hopeful of being fit to face Southampton in the Premier League tomorrow.
It had been feared that the Spaniard would miss the trip south after sustaining an injury in a collision with a pitch invader after Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup win.
With Alisson already on the treatment table it looked as though third choice Andy Lonergan would be called upon.

That might not be necessary though with Adrian hopeful of lining-up for the Reds tomorrow.
The news of Adrian’s inclusion in tomorrow’s team would be a massive positive for Jurgen Klopp. Given his heroics on Wednesday night his confidence will be sky high and Liverpool won’t want to be relying on their third-choice goalkeeper.
An ex-West Ham stopper, the 32-year-old already looks like a big player, particularly in the absence of the club’s regular number one.

Following news of Adrian potentially being fit and ready to take his place in goal at Southampton tomorrow, Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to speak of their delight.
Here is a selection of tweets from Reds supporters who appear delighted that their new recruit is on the mend ahead of Saturday:
