Linked free-kick king could become West Ham’s new Dimitri Payet
West Ham United are interested in signing Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.
, who claim the player is open to a move to the Premier League.

The AC Milan playmaker is apparently valued at around £26 million, which makes him a tantalising proposition.
Calhanoglu has been a mainstay under Gennaro Gattuso this season and has made 40 appearances so far this term, scoring two goals and making 13 assists.
TBR’s view
One of Calhanoglu’s specialities is his quality from free-kick scenarios – specifically, scoring goals from them.
The former Bayer Leverkusen ace has a bit of a reputation for being deadly accurate when over a dead ball.
Throughout his career Calhanoglu has scored from all kinds of ranges and angles, the pick of the bunch probably being a 50-yard thunderbolt for Hamburg against Borussia Dortmund back in 2014.

, since turning professional the playmaker has scored 21 direct free-kick goals.
If West Ham managed to sign him then he could well become their answer to Dimitri Payet, who was also a tremendous talent when it came to free-kicks.
Calhanoglu probably doesn’t possess the same technical quality as Payet in a game but he is arguably better than the Frenchman from set-pieces.
