Lineker responds when asked by Roberts, if Conte takes Tottenham above Manchester United

Gary Lineker has responded hilariously to Graham Roberts, when asked if Tottenham would overtake Manchester United with Antonio Conte as boss.

Conte is being linked with vacant Tottenham job after Spurs decided to sack Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday. Conte was first choice in the summer.

Now, Spurs could finally get their man. Reports say Spurs might actually appoint him by the end of play on Monday. He is reportedly in London.

The reaction to reports that Tottenham are closing in Conte is positive. Many are delighted that a boss with such a big calibre is coming to Spurs.

Responding to an initial Tweet from Lineker, Roberts asked the ex-Spurs striker if Tottenham overtake Manchester United with Conte at the helm.

Lineker replied, hilariously, by saying the “United” that Tottenham would overtake with Conte would be the one residing on Tyneside.

Lineker response to Roberts: Where do Tottenham reach under Conte?

There is a huge amount of work to be done at Tottenham – for Conte, or whoever replaces Nuno. Harry Kane’s form is probably the first issue.

Secondly, finding a system that gets the best out of Tottenham’s other faltering players – Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele, Steven Bergwijn etc.

But Conte has the track record for it and if he can get Tottenham firing again, there is no reason why they cannot challenge for the top four.

They currently sit in eighth. But speaking more realistically, Tottenham under Conte this season would get top six.
