Lineker amazed by Thiago during Liverpool win over Manchester United
Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to express his admiration for Thiago Alcantara while Liverpool were thrashing Manchester United on Tuesday, insisting that he loves to watch the midfielder.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have gone top of the Premier League after a stunning performance at Anfield. The Reds simply blew their opponents away to take a 2-0 lead at the break.
It was Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah who scored the two goals in some style. Meanwhile, Sadio Mane was outrageously good when setting up the second for the home side.
But there was another breathtaking display amongst the Liverpool side – and that came from Thiago. The midfielder was simply sensational, particularly in the first 45 minutes.
No player made more key passes than Thiago before the break. He managed three, while no-one else could contribute more than one, .
He also won two tackles. And he helped Liverpool absolutely dominate the midfield battle against Manchester United.
Thiago emphatically silencing all doubters with recent form for Liverpool
Thiago has come in for some criticism during his time on Merseyside. And there probably were times early on when he was struggling to live up to expectations on a consistent basis.
But he has been outstanding over the last few months. And yet, he seems to have still found another gear in recent weeks.
And Lineker could not hide just how impressed he had been with Thiago on social media. The pundit took to Twitter towards the end of the first-half to highlight how much he enjoys seeing the master of his craft…
