Lincoln boss Danny Cowley says he has had no contact from Sheffield Wednesday
Lincoln manager Danny Cowley says that his focus remains squarely on the League One club and that he has had no contact from Sheffield Wednesday.
, Cowley was clear on his future despite plenty of talk earlier this week that he was in the frame to take over the Owls.
He : “It would be nice to put it behind me if I can, but you guys always seem to know more than I do. We have already spoken about Huddersfield. There has been no contact from Sheffield Wednesday.
“I can’t control what people say or write. All I can do is control where my focus lies and that’s fully on the game ahead against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.”
TBR’s View – Do Cowley’s comment hint that Wednesday have something else up their sleeve or reveal poor planning?
Steve Bruce left Wednesday in the lurch but his departure was protracted and the club have now had a significant period of time to put a plan in place to replace him.
The fact that Cowley says he hasn’t even had contact from Wednesday could suggest that they are working on their genuine target under the radar.
By the same token, it could just mean that the club are still stumbling around in the dark without a clear plan. The fans will wait and see, but it would be a shock if talks hadn’t taken place with another candidate if Cowley hasn’t even been contacted.
