Liam Cooper posts message to Leeds United loan Lewie Coyle

Liam Cooper has offered some kinds words on Twitter to Lewie Coyle, who has become a key Fleetwood Town player during his time there on loan from Leeds United.

Coyle is enjoying his third loan spell with Fleetwood and has spent his time developing his game in recent years with the League One club.

The 24-year-old right-back has been a major success for them, but hasn’t quite done enough to break into contention at Elland Road.

He is an attack-minded full-back that already has four assists in 17 games across all competitions this season and he still has so much potential.

Leeds captain Cooper has explained he’s delighted to see the progress of loanee Coyle away from the Yorkshire club.

“Love to see it mate,” Cooper wrote on his in response to a tweet from Coyle’s agency Major League Sports.

TBR’s View:

It wouldn’t have been a surprise if Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa looked at keeping Coyle around the first-team squad this season, but instead he was shipped out on loan once again in the summer and made the switch to Highbury Stadium.

The defender has proven himself to be formidable at League One level and deserves a regular crack in the Championship, but unfortunately for him Leeds already have the likes of Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas as options in his position.

Coyle’s latest loan with Fleetwood expires in January, so it will be intriguing to see where his future lies.
