Lewis Cook might end up relegated this summer with Leeds United replacing Bournemouth
By the end of the weekend, Bournemouth could be a Championship team again, as they go into the final day of the Premier League season as one of three teams that could occupy the final two relegation places in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Leeds United will be making their way back to the top-flight, after winning the Championship.
Which will no doubt have former Leeds United star Lewis Cook wondering what might have been?
There are not many Leeds fans out there who will begrudge Cook for making his Leeds exit when he did.
Cook joined the Cherries in a£6 million deal, potentially rising to £10 million in performance-related add-ons.
That was back in 2016 and Cook’s departure was undoubtedly in the best interests of his career. Massimo Cellino was Leeds chairman at the time and it was an unstable period in West Yorkshire.

The move to Bournemouth initially worked out. Cook made his England debut in 2018 and was being linked with £30 million moves to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur .
But injuries soon struck and Cook has struggled to help turn the tide this season as Bournemouth battle to the final day against relegation.
The 23-year-old was right to leave Leeds when he did and he would have had no idea that two years down the line, Marcelo Bielsa would be arriving.
The Argentine could have worked wonders with the talent Cook possesses but instead, Kalvin Phillips has been the local lad to benefit in the heart of Leeds’ midfield.
Cook will do his utmost to ensure he goes face-to-face with Phillips and co next season. But it could be he ends up wondering what might have been if he had tried to weather the Cellino storm.
