‘Let’s be honest’: TalkSPORT pundit thinks PL winning striker is definitely not going to join Arsenal

Jamie O’Hara believes Arsenal will not sign Diego Costa even though he’s available for free at the moment.
The Gunners let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave after terminating his contract this week, while Folarin Balogun was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough. That has left the Gunners with just Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah up top.
Mikel Arteta’s men only have 17 games left this season and two strikers, irrespective of their quality, should be enough. However, injuries or suspensions could leave the Gunners in a really difficult position in the business end of the season.
Some fans have urged Edu and Arteta to explore the free-agent market and Diego Costa is the biggest name available out there.
Jamie O’Hara: Arsenal will not sign Diego Costa
Debating Arsenal’s decision to not sign a striker in January, a fan suggested that the Gunners should sign Costa. O’Hara quickly hit back saying that the ex-Chelsea man will not even be an option for Arteta.
He said on : “(Arsenal will not sign Diego Costa) because you’ve brought in a young squad of players. You have spent £150 million on a young group of players with Arteta.
“You’re not going to bring in Diego Costa are you? Let’s be honest, come on.
“It’s a quick fix that, and that’s not what Arsenal are trying to achieve. I don’t think you come in with a quick fix because look at Manchester United, it doesn’t necessarily work.”

TBR View:
O’Hara’s right, it makes no sense for Arsenal to sign Costa.
The Spaniard, a Premier League winner with Chelsea back in the day, was once one of the most feared strikers in the world. He was almost impossible to stop at times, and he would’ve been a fantastic option for Arsenal seven years ago when they were struggling with Olivier Giroud up top.
However, Costa is now 33 and is well past his prime. Even though he is a free agent, it makes no sense for Arsenal boss Arteta to make a move for him – unless Lacazette and Nketiah both suffer serious injuries.
