Leonardo Bonucci says attacker Tottenham really want to sign can become a ‘top player’

Leonardo Bonucci has tipped a Tottenham Hotspur target to become one of the best on the continent in a recent interview.

Tottenham have made three additions so far this window and are looking to add more depth in the forward line.

Having missed out on Champions League football by two points last term, Ange Postecoglou evidently feels that’s an area that needs addressing.

As such, it’s believed Tottenham have already offered a sizable contract to Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa, who Bonucci has hailed in a recent interview.

Leonardo Bonucci praises Federico Chiesa

Juventus wide player Federico Chiesa has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham with some reports even suggesting a bid has been made.

Chiesa’s future in Turin is hanging in the balance with his contract due to expire in a year’s time, so it’s understood that Juve are looking to move him on this window.

Amid links to North London, Bonucci has tipped him to become a ‘top player’ and hopes he achieves that status with the Serie A side.

“Away from Juve? I don’t know, I think Federico has to do an inner exam for a moment and understand what he wants,” the 37-year-old said via .

“In recent years, he has had physical difficulties, now it is time for him to take the step to become a top player. I hope this will happen to Juventus, but in the meantime, he has to take this step otherwise the rest of his career can become difficult.”

Federico Chiesa pricetag

It’s claimed Chiesa can be signed for as little as £25m this summer due to his contract situation.

Juventus don’t want to risk losing him on a free transfer next year so they’re prepared to sanction his sale for much less than his true valuation.

Spurs should take advantage and try to land his signature, with the Italy international thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
