Leon Osman tips Everton midfielder Andre Gomes for great things next season
Leon Osman has shared his delight that Everton signed Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes permanently this summer and expects him to be a real asset going into next season.
The Portugal international spent the last campaign on loan at Goodison Park and quickly became a fan favourite.
Marco Silva’s team completed a permanent £22million deal () for him this summer and he’s penned a five-year deal with the Merseyside club.
Gomes is a central midfielder that struck up a lovely partnership alongside Idrissa Gueye for the Toffees and will hope to continue that.
The 25-year-old is a pass master that is extremely slick in possession and can get the team on the front foot quickly, while he’s defensively assured too.
Ex-Everton midfielder Osman is thrilled that Gomes is back at the club and believes there is more to come from him.
“Brilliant to see Andre Gomes in for the start of pre-season and in a great deal for Everton. Even more to come from him next season,”

TBR’s View:
It seemed a no-brainer for Everton to wrap up the Gomes deal this summer and there would surely have been outrage from supporters if he hadn’t returned to Goodison Park.
He can certainly be a key part of the team moving forward, as they have to try break into the European spots next season.
Gomes offers some extra guile and control in the centre of the park, which helped them compete against the tougher teams in the division.
Everton need to try avoid dropping sloppy points against lesser opponents and should set lofty ambitions for the new campaign.
