Leon Osman says Liverpool star has always had a ‘slightly heavy touch’

that he thinks Liverpool star Mo Salah has always had a “slightly heavy touch”, after his hat-trick on Sunday.

Salah, 29, tooks his tally to 15 goals and five assists in just 12 appearances with a brilliant hat-trick against Manchester United – ending in a 5-0 win.

The Egyptian is widely regarded as the best player in world football at the moment. Even ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi right now.

His performance against Manchester United was sublime, he was without fault. Diogo Jota and Naby Keita, of course, also netted in the big victory.

But despite all that, ex-Everton man Osman has spotted a weakness in regards to Salah – one that he has always had, not just a recent issue.

“He has always had a slightly heavy touch, but his pace and his control with that heavy touch is great. I think he is the best in the world, right now.”

Osman on Salah: Does Liverpool star really have any weaknesses?

Over the last couple of seasons, Salah has been criticised at times for his hold-up play, sometimes his selfishness and finishing.

But this season, his creativity and hold-up play has dramatically improved, with a huge five assists in 12 games. His pass to Naby Keita was perfect.

With that creativity, comes less selfishness – even laying on a goal for Sadio Mane against Norwich. His finishing is clearly pretty good, too.

Does he have a heavy touch? He does almost overrun it in the build up to his third goal – but not many have a better touch than Salah.
