Leon Osman believes top PL sides may be looking on with envy at Everton star Allan

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman has suggested some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs will feel they ‘missed the boat’ over Allan.

The Brazilian transferred to Goodison Park in the summer for a reported fee of £21 million (), reuniting with Carlo Ancelotti following their time at Napoli together.

It’s been a pretty impressive start for the tenacious South American.

Allan has started all but one Premier League game so far, missing the Brighton game at the start of October through injury.

He’s brought energy and bite to the Toffees’ engine room, and is already hit with supporters.

In the eyes of Osman, Allan’s displays so far actually may have some of the top sides quite jealous.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “He goes about his job and makes everybody around him seem a better player.

“I feel that many teams around – Man City, Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea maybe – are looking at him and thinking ‘we’ve missed the boat here’.”

“He is a player who does all those different jobs that position demands and he is also top quality on the ball.”

TBR’s View – A top quality signing

Everton’s midfield had been crying out for fresh impetus and the signing of Allan has certainly injected that.

He, along with Everton’s other centre-midfielder signing Abdoulaye Doucoure, has been a superb addition and he stands to be key to the Toffees’ European hopes come the end of the season.
