Leny Yoro has Manchester United fans all saying the same thing after Liverpool performance

Leny Yoro was one of Manchester United’s statement signings in the summer, a young defender who was also on the radar of clubs like Real Madrid.

Unfortunately, Yoro suffered an ankle injury very early on at Man United, stifling his progress until he returned at the beginning of December.

Now, Ruben Amorim is slowly introducing the 19-year-old, who has still only made 68 appearances as a senior player.

Yoro has started two league games under Amorim, defeats to Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers, but has appeared in all league games in some capacity since he returned to the fold.

Clearly, Amorim is preparing Yoro to become a star at Old Trafford, and he took another step in the right direction during his cameo against Liverpool.

Man United fans excited about Leny Yoro’s potential after Darwin Nunez tackle

Despite only playing just under 20 minutes as a substitute, coming on for Mathijs De Ligt late on, Yoro amazed United fans who took to X to celebrate a brilliant tackle denying Darwin Nunez.

Yoro put it all on the line to deny Nunez a massive chance in his own box, a tackle he timed to perfection.

As a result, United fans were all making lofty predictions about the potential of their big-money defender.

One fan wrote: “Leny Yoro, the whole world saw that tackle, you are generational.”

Another supporter boasted about the potential of the 19-year-old after seeing how he denied Nunez.

“That is why Leny Yoro is the best young centre half on the planet” – a big label.

When seeing his impact against Liverpool, one United fan also recalled Yoro’s influence when he came on against Arsenal, a defender who is showing all of the right signs.

They wrote: “Made a huge impact when he came on vs Arsenal, and potentially could win us a point today with that challenge.

“19 years old, what a prospect Leny Yoro is!!”

What has Ruben Amorim said about Leny Yoro’s potential?

All that being said, Amorim also shared similar exciting words about Yoro following his display against Arsenal that one fan just mentioned.

Speaking to , Amorim didn’t get too carried away, but was evidently convinced about the young defender straight away.

He said: “Of course, Leny Yoro, you can feel the talent. The speed, the way he handled one against one, in a very difficult stadium… [after] a lot of time without playing, you can see the quality.”

An extremely exciting talent, and one who could be a regular starter in United’s back three before the end of the season.

Of course, Harry Maguire is fighting to stay at United right now, hoping he also has a long-term future in Amorim’s defence.
