‘Lenny’s done a good job’: 63-year-old says Celtic have secured the signature of a ‘terrific’ player
Celtic have been praised by Tony Pulis for securing the signature of Liam Shaw on a pre-contract agreement.
The versatile 19-year-old, who came through the ranks at English second-tier side Sheffield Wednesday, will join the Hoops in the summer.
According to , the Owls will receive around £300,000 compensation from Celtic.

Shaw, who can play in defence and midfield, joined Wednesday at the age of eight before making his first-team debut last season in July.
He signed his first professional contract in December 2018, which will run out in the summer, and has made 17 competitive senior appearances for the club.
Pulis briefly managed Wednesday late last year but, despite being in the job for just 45 days, he feels he saw enough from Shaw to suggest he’s a star in the making.
“Liam is a terrific signing for Celtic and Lenny’s done a good job in finding him and taking him to Scotland because lots of people were ringing me up and asking about him,” the 63-year-old told the .
“I had a Premier League club ring me up to ask about him and I gave them the same answer as I gave everyone else – that he’s a very good player with tremendous potential – so I’d definitely say they’ve pulled off a good signing.
“I only had five weeks at Sheffield Wednesday and in my time there I got him in the team pretty early. I’d expect him to have a really good career in the game.
“His attitude is absolutely fantastic and with the way things are in the world just now then one of the most important things when you sign players at the moment is their character.
“The game has become so fluffy so if you can get good players with good characters then you’ve now swum the Channel.
“Liam’s a strong character. He’s one of those who wants to be a player and, being around him, you get the opinion he wants to be the best he possibly can be.
“He’s quick, he’s got two good feet and he can play in a number of positions. The only thing he would lack just now is experience and he needs that.”

TBR View:
Shaw has been brilliant for Wednesday since breaking into the first team, so it’s little surprise that big clubs have been circling, and credit to Celtic for snapping him up.
News of his impending departure hasn’t been met well by Wednesday fans, but it’s a coup for the Hoops, who’ll soon have one of the English Championship’s top players in their ranks.
