Leif Davis names Pontus Jansson as quickest at Leeds over 10 metres

Leif Davis has named Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson as the surprise player that is quickest at the club over 10 metres.

Davis has revealed that the 28-year-old came out on top during a fitness sprint test and that may shock some supporters.

Jansson is a no-nonsense centre-back renowned for his strength, but he’s clearly no slouch too and has a great turn of pace.

It’s intriguing to see the likes of Jack Harrison, Ezgjan Alioski and Tyler Roberts not top the list of speed machines.

TBR’s View:

Jansson certainly is one of the outstanding defenders in the Championship and his pace over a short distance is another reason why attackers can find it impossible against him.

The Sweden international is extremely dominant when it comes to aerial and physical battles, but he won’t be too concerned about players running in behind by the sounds of it.

He’s certainly got the understanding of the game to make a step up and would be pivotal for Leeds next year if they end up playing in the Premier League.

Jansson will continue to be a leader during the club’s promotion run-in this campaign and he is a well balanced defender with no obvious flaws.
