Leicester winger Marc Albrighton hails ‘brilliant’ Aston Villa player
Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton has singled out Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as one of his team’s star performers this season.
Villa signed Martinez in the summer window for £17million () from Arsenal, which has turned out to be an extreme bargain for someone of his quality.
The Argentine shot-stopper has 12 clean sheets in the Premier League already this season, which is the second-best record in the entire division right now behind Manchester City’s Ederson.
After impressing with Arsenal last season, Dean Smith’s side decided to bring him to Villa Park and they have become so much more defensively solid with him in-between the sticks.
Albrighton, who is a Leicester winger and ex-Villa player, has picked out the quality of the goalkeeper.
Albrighton will travel with his Leicester side on Sunday to Villa Park for a Premier League fixture.
“They’ve had plenty of clean sheets. The goalkeeper they bought in has been brilliant for them,”

TBR’s View:
If Villa do manage to finish in the European positions this season, then the excellent recruitment in the summer will have played a large role in the success.
The Midlands club are sat eighth in the league table and still have plenty of work to do, but they have been one of the best teams in the top flight to watch in the last few months.
They look extremely fluent when they attack, but on the flip side they’ve got one of the most in-form goalkeepers across the country.
