Leeds want Brereton Diaz; report shares striker target’s asking price
Leeds United are monitoring Ben Brereton Diaz, but they may have to be prepared to make the striker one of their most expensive signings ever if they hope to bring their transfer target to Elland Road, .
Marcelo Bielsa is apparently considering getting a new forward in during the January transfer window. In fact, it is claimed that the club are desperate to strengthen in that area of the field. It comes with Leeds losing Patrick Bamford to a fresh injury earlier this month.

The Whites managed to score twice in their agonising loss to Chelsea on Saturday. And one of those strikes came from Joe Gelhardt as his stock continues to rise.
But it would appear that Bielsa is open to Leeds signing a striker with a little more experience.
Leeds United want Ben Brereton Diaz, but Whites may need to pay £25m
The Sun reports that Leeds are amongst the sides tracking Brereton Diaz. Brighton and Sevilla are also admirers of the Chile international.
However, Blackburn Rovers are not prepared to let the 22-year-old leave on the cheap. that he could have an asking price of £25 million.
Of course, it is little surprise that Rovers want so much for Brereton Diaz. Once again, Tony Mowbray’s men boast one of the most lethal goalscorers in the Championship, having sold Adam Armstrong in the summer.

This time around, Brereton Diaz has 17 goals to his name in the second tier. Only Aleksandar Mitrovic has found the back of the net more often.
Bielsa surely unlikely to gamble by spending big on striker transfer
The former Nottingham Forest man’s form this season has almost come out of nowhere. He left the City Ground having scored eight times in 53 league games for the club.
And he followed that with just two league goals in 40 appearances for Blackburn. There was an improvement last term with seven goals. That helped the youngster force his way into Chile’s squad for the Copa America.
But there was little indication that he would go on to score 17 times in 22 games this season.
He is a player who offers a lot physically. And he is rarely bullied by defenders. He also shows plenty of composure in front of goal.
Leeds fans may have their doubts however, about a move for Brereton Diaz. Gelhardt is now off the mark. And Tyler Roberts is playing as well as he ever has for Bielsa’s men.
Spending £25 million therefore, would be a huge risk. And if Leeds are going to part with that kind of sum next month, it would surely be better spent on signing a new central midfielder instead.
