Leeds United chief claims he held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and PSG striker in January
Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has told respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, that the Whites tried to bring Edison Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Elland Road in January.
The astonishing comments were made during the latest interview which took place with football suspended due to the Covid-19 health pandemic.
Leeds are currently top of the Sky Bet Championship and did manage to add Jean-Kevin Augustin to their ranks during the January window.

Signing Cavani or Ibrahimovic would have really given Leeds a push, however, and highlights exactly how ambitious the club’s hierarchy is.
Cavani was worth £27 million during January with the Uruguayan very close to signing for Atletico Madrid .
Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract with AC Milan and Radrizzani suggested he might try and sign him again in the summer.
“Cavani? The president had given me the availability to verify the interest with the player’s brother.
“However, the negotiation never flew. I spoke more concretely with Zlatan. He could give us a decisive push but he decided to go to Milan. He was very honest and transparent with me.
“Would we return for Zlatan again next year? It depends.”
Leeds have been knocking on the door of the Premier League for a few seasons now and do look set to win promotion.
Prior to the halt in proceedings, the Whites had won five and drawn once since a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in February.
Dream
Some people might think Leeds are living in a dream world trying to attract these world-class stars.

It does highlight, however, the ambition that the club’s board has and where they want to put Leeds United.
If the club were to win promotion they wouldn’t stop there and emulating Wolves would surely be the aim – if not higher.
The potential at Elland Road is massive and it’ll be interesting to see exactly who can be attracted if promotion is secured.
