Leeds United warned that reported target Nicholas Gonzalez will be ‘expensive’
Leeds United have recently been linked with a potential move for VfB Stuttgart striker Nicolas Gonzalez.
In fact, that Leeds were in the lead regarding the race for the 22-year-old striker, as the Argentine would like to work with compatriot Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
But the German club’s CEO has made it clear that any deal for the forward will not be cheap.

Thomas Hitzlsperger, a former Premier League midfielder with Aston Villa and Everton, is now in a position of power at the German club and has been discussing the future of his striking talent this week.
“With him you can imagine that clubs are willing to spend a lot and they have to,” Hitzlsperger is . “If we decide to hand him over, then it really has to be expensive.”
The same report claims that Stuttgart value Gonzalez in the €20 million (£18m) region, which would require Leeds to use a large chunk of their transfer budget to secure a deal.
The Argentine international could however be the perfect back-up striker option to Patrick Bamford.
His ability to play out wide makes him a double threat whilst his tally of 15 goals last season helped Stuttgart win promotion back to the Bundesliga.
Leeds United need another frontman for their Premier League campaign and Gonzalez would be an ideal recruit.
However, the German side are clearly not willing to do a deal on the cheap.
