Leeds United target Che Adams punished Marcelo Bielsa ‘mistake’ last season
Leeds United are reportedly keen on a deal for Southampton forward Che Adams. It has been reported by numerous sources, , that the forward is on Leeds United’s transfer shortlist for the January window.
The Whites need a new forward following Eddie Nketiah’s return to parent club Arsenal, who had become impatient with his loan spell.
Adams only joined Southampton in a £15 million move from Birmingham City in the summer but has struggled with the step up to the Premier League.

However, Leeds United fans are fully aware of how devastating Adams can be in the Championship.
Last season, Marcelo Bielsa’s unbeaten start to life as Leeds United manager came crashing down in a shock 2-1 loss to Birmingham City at Elland Road in September. The goalscorer for the Blues that day was Adams, bagging both goals. It was a game in which Marcelo Bielsa admitted a tactical ‘mistake’ in his post-match press conference, . Bielsa had to haul of Kalvin Phillips in the first-half to rectify it. Adams took full advantage.
“Phillips had to assume the consequences for the mistake I made. When I corrected the mistake, the rival had already scored two goals. It is a high price to pay for a tactical mistake.”
The youngster did not stop there. In April, he put one of the nails in Leeds United’s promotion coffin as Birmingham completed the double over the Whites. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at St Andrew’s.
Leeds United are therefore fully aware of the impact Adams can have at this level. No wonder they are sniffing around.
