Leeds United stars react to Manchester United defeat in FA Youth Cup
Leeds United were dumped out of the FA Youth Cup last night after a 1-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The under-18 outfit were put to the sword thanks to a Dillon Hoogewerf goal in the second half of the contest.
Leeds’ job was made all the more difficult when Henri Kumwenda saw red for two bookable offences.

What proved quite remarkable about the contest was the level of support from the visiting side.
Despite this essentially being an under-18 contest, the Whites arrived in numbers, selling out almost 1,500 tickets for the match.
It was a valiant attempt in front of an expectant away following. Ultimately, however, it was their rivals who progressed to face Wigan in the next round.
Some Leeds United first-teamers were clearly impressed with both the performance and the support, taking to Twitter to speak of their pride.
Luke Ayling posted a congratulatory message to the youngsters for their battling efforts on the night:
Great effort lads. You and them fans are a credit to our club 💙💙

Tyler Roberts also got in on the act asking his followers to tell him if they could name a club with better support than Leeds.
Name better Fans … I’ll wait 🤨🤩👏🏽

Captain Liam Cooper also tweeted his appreciation to the club’s supporters.
The Scotland international will hope to be celebrating with fans at the end of the season having won promotion.
He used just one word, to sum up, the support given to the youngsters last night:
Unbelievable 🔥
