Leeds United stars comment on Izzy Brown’s Instagram as Garry Monk swoops
Izzy Brown has posted on Instagram after completing a season-long loan move to Garry Monk’s Sheffield Wednesday from Chelsea – and Leeds United duo Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts have responded, as has Ben White.
Brown, 23, endured a dismal spell on loan at Leeds United during the 2018-19 season after initially joining the club injured. He played more for the Whites’ Under-23 side, appearing only twice for the senior team, both as a sub.
But the England youth international showed what he is really about on loan with Luton last term, clocking up seven assists in 25 Championship appearances and even scoring once against Charlton. Injury limited him, though.
That form, though, has seen ex-Leeds boss Monk lure him to Sheffield Wednesday this summer on loan until the end of the 2020-21 campaign – and Brown has posted on Instagram after his move was confirmed.
Brown joins a Wednesday side that has plenty of Leeds connection with manager Monk almost guiding the Whites into the play-offs during 2016-17. Their captain, Tom Lees, came through the ranks at Leeds and played 135 times.
Now, Brown will be hoping to get his career back on track as he did at Luton with a strong season at Wednesday – and Phillips, Roberts and White all responded to his Instagram post – wishing him well.
