Leeds United should consider rekindling Silvan Hefti interest after Pontus Jansson exit
Leeds United were linked with a move for Swiss talent Silvan Hefti earlier this summer. The trail has seemingly gone cold. However, could recent events see Leeds return for the St Gallen star?
Of course, the recent events refer to Pontus Jansson. The Swedish defender was sold this summer, joining Championship rivals Brentford in a shock transfer development.
, a breakdown in the relationship between club and player was to blame. A £5.5 million move was swiftly sanctioned.
Whilst Leeds have secured Ben White on loan for the season from Brighton, fans are again worried that the Whites are short at centre-back.

One potential solution could be Swiss under-21 talent, Hefti. the talented St Gallen captain was looked at ahead of the summer transfer window.
The deal was made more likely by Hefti’s contract, which had just 12 months to run. That is no longer the case. Hefti’s contract was automatically renewed by a further year after playing 40 games last season.
But Hefti is a player on Leeds’ radar who would surely not command a massive transfer fee this summer, regardless of his contract extension.
Strong, commanding but deceptively good with the ball at his feet, Hefti is a similar player to Jansson and could be perfect replacement this summer.
