Leeds United fans in awe of 17-year-old goal machine after 19th strike of the season

Leeds United’s Under-23 team continued their fine season last night under the Elland Road floodlights. Carlos Corberan saw his youngsters defeat Coventry City 3-2 after extra-time to seal a place in the PDL-National Cup Final.

It wasn’t all plain sailing for the Whites who were pegged back by a dogged Sky Blues team. The gulf in quality showed ultimately though and Leeds now have a chance to claim a double for the campaign.

A surprise omission from the starting line-up was that of Ryan Edmondson. The 18-goal talisman was forced to settle for a place on the bench despite a magnificent goalscoring campaign.

He did get the chance to join the action in the second half and didn’t disappoint. He took his goal tally to 19 for the season with a well-taken effort to put Leeds 2-1 in front.

The target man has looked the part this season. He has been a regular for the Under-23s despite his tender age of just 17-years-old.

The youngster has featured twice off the bench for the Whites but is yet to receive a proper run out under Marcelo Bielsa.

Supporters are chomping at the bit to see the natural-born goalscorer earn a chance in the first-team and after another strike, they took to Twitter to rave about the teenager…
