Leeds United round-up: Brown’s recovery better than expected, Huffer’s debut hopes and Pedraza thankful
Brown’s motivation
Izzy Brown’s recent comeback from a knee injury went better than Leeds had planned. The Chelsea loanee has not yet featured for Leeds’ first-team, as he continues to recuperate from a serious knee injury.
The attacker featured in an under-23 clash against Birmingham City on Friday, a game in which fellow Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman suffered a broken leg.
Leeds under-23 boss Carlos Corberan said the plan was to only give him 30 minutes of action praising the player’s ‘motivation’ in managing to play longer.
Huffer hopes
Leeds United goalkeeper when the youngsters face Germany.
The club’s current third-choice stopper looks set for a promotion in the coming weeks because of the injury to Blackman.
If he does play, Leeds will hope he comes through the game unscathed.
Pedraza thankful
Former Leeds United loanee
The Villarreal left wing-back has been linked with both Real Madrid and Manchester United recently. He spent the second half of the 2016-17 season on loan at Elland Road but a permanent deal could not be done after Leeds failed to win promotion under Garry Monk.
He said his time at Leeds helped him ‘grow up’.
