Leeds United round-up: Bamford injured, Jansson furious and Millwall boss praise

Bamford blow

Leeds United have been dealt a huge injury blow. after an injury to his posterior cruciate ligament.

The striker, signed from Middlesbrough in a £7 million deal this summer, suffered the injury during an under-23 game recently.

The injury will leave Leeds short in attack, with Kemar Roofe the most experienced option and the likes of Tyler Roberts and Ryan Edmondson in reserve.

Jansson furious

Pontus Jansson is not a happy man after his recent international outing. The centre-back played the full 90 minutes as Sweden through away a 2-0 lead against Turkey.

Sweden were 2-1 up with two minutes left. But two late goals from Galatasaray midfielder Emre Akbaba gave Turkey a 3-2 win in Solna.

after the game Jansson was frank in his assessment stating it was a ‘huge disappointment’ and used some rather strong language that can’t be repeated.

Harris hopes

Millwall boss Neil Harris has been speaking about the upcoming game with Leeds United. He is quoted as admitting it will be a ‘really difficult game’ but that if his side works hard they can get a result.
