Leeds United reportedly keen on Maxwel Cornet, would be perfect for Marcelo Bielsa
Leeds United are reportedly interested in Lyon star Maxwel Cornet, according to reports.
It is that the West Yorkshire side are considering a move for the Ivory Coast international, who has been in fine form in the Champions League for the French side.
Cornet, who joined Lyon in 2015 from Metz, is being valued at well over €10 million (£9m) by the Ligue 1 side. Leeds are not alone in being interested in the player, with Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Watford, and Liverpool also keeping an eye on his progress in recent months.
It comes after his impressive performances for Lyon recently, including scoring the opening goal in the 3-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League. Indeed, he has tormented Pep Guardiola recently. He also scored in a group stage win over City earlier this season.
He would also be a perfect recruit for Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play.

Not only can Cornet play either wide right or wide left in attack, but the 23-year-old has recently been playing plenty of football as a left wing-back under Rudi Garcia.
Leeds United currently have Gjanni Alioski and Stuart Dallas who fulfill similar roles at Elland Road and Cornet could easily be an upgrade on both players.
The Ivorian was one of the stars of the show as Lyon knocked out Manchester City and his tireless work down the left flank would undoubtedly fit in perfectly in West Yorkshire under Bielsa’s guidance.
Leeds United fans will be hoping that a deal can be achieved to bring in the 23-year-old, who would be a perfect recruit for the current Leeds set-up.
