Leeds United receive transfer boost as club ‘will not stand in way’ of £26 million striker
Leeds United have received a transfer boost after Lecce’s president admitted the club will not stand in the way of one star’s exit if their transfer valuation is met.
Daniel Farke has already significantly strengthened his squad as Leeds United prepare to return to the Premier League in the 2025/26 season.
Having completed deals for the likes of Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Sean Longstaff, Farke is now turning his attention to bringing in attacking players to boost Leeds’ Premier League survival hopes.
The Whites have been persistently linked to Rodrigo Muniz throughout the summer; however, with Newcastle United considering a move for the Fulham man, Leeds may face a battle.
However, Leeds could now return to a target they looked set to miss out on, after Lecce’s president admitted they will not block the exit of Nikola Krstovic this summer.

Lecce will not block Nikola Krstovic sale
Speaking to , Lecce President Saverio Sticchi Damiani admitted that the club cannot block a move for the Montenegro international.
According to the report, a bid of 30 million euros, or £26 million, will be enough to convince Lecce to sell, as Damiani said: “He knows he’s been a key figure in our shirt, and the club’s results have also been the result of his performances.
“Therefore, the club owes him recognition, and this recognition translates into not hindering his progress. At the same time, the club must also be rewarded.
“We’ll therefore approach everything with balance, but I expect that if things don’t work out, he’ll be as happy as if he’d gone to Real Madrid anyway.”
Roma could still hinder Leeds United transfer deal
Whilst Damiani’s statement is undoubtedly a boost for any club with an interest in Krstovic, a move to Elland Road remains far from a certainty.
A previous report in the suggested that Krstovic was a key target for AS Roma, who recently signed Evan Ferguson from Brighton.

Whilst the move for Ferguson could rule them out of a deal for Krstovic, Leeds’ interest in Artem Dovbyk, who currently plays for the team from the Italian capital, could be the transfer domino that needs to fall into place to unlock a sequence of moves.
However, if Dovbyk remains in Rome and Leeds miss out on Muniz, they now know what they will need to pay to meet Lecce’s “significant offer” criteria.
