Leeds United must act now on Thiago Almada release clause
Leeds United are reportedly interested in a move for Argentine talent Thiago Almada, according to reports.
that the Velez Sarsfield talent, tipped by many as the ‘new Lionel Messi’, was on a shortlist of Argentine players being linked with a move to join compatriot Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
The player himself has now spoken about the interest, he would love to work for Bielsa and that he had been impressed by what he had seen from clips of Leeds playing this season.

So how much would Leeds need to pay to bring Almada to Elland Road?
Firstly, it needs to be a significant amount. Almada does not currently meet work permit qualifications to make a move to Leeds. A big fee can sometimes circumvent those protocols, by demonstrating the player’s immense potential.
Secondly, if Leeds wanted to have no doubts, they could make an offer for Almada that his current club cannot refuse.
, Almada’s new contract at Velez, signed in September 2019, contained an incrementally rising release clause.
At present, an offer of €22 million (£20m) would have to be accepted by Velez and Leeds would be able to discuss a deal with the teenager.
However, that is only in place until the 31st of August. At that point, the price will rise to €25 million (£22.7m), so Leeds are best to get moving on this potential deal as soon as possible.
