Leeds United make contact to sign £8m star as well as Isaac Schmidt with player ‘open’ to joining

Leeds have had a rather busy end to the transfer window as they look to bolster key positions in the hope of securing promotion to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke‘s side remain unbeaten in the Championship this season despite not playing their best football just yet, with the Sheffield Wednesday game perhaps a glimpse of what’s to come.

Still, the transfer window offers an opportunity for the Whites to get some fresh faces in, which is important when you’ve seen the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray all head for the exits.

Leeds are currently on course to sign both Ao Tanaka and Isaac Schmidt before the deadline.

However, that’s not all, as another player appears to be keen on joining and Leeds may have already reached out to try and sort a deal…

Leeds United make enquiry over Roland Sallai with the player keen to join

It has been reported that Leeds are working to sign Roland Sallai in the closing moments of the window.

And, Ben Jacobs has provided an update on the situation as .

“Roland Sallai is another player that Leeds ave already made a direct enquiry for, to Freiburg. The fee is likely to be in excess of £8m, all in, including add-ons.

“And there’s no agreement yet, but it’s understood that the player would be open to the move.”

With Largie Ramazani and Manor Soloman joining Leeds recently, could the fact that they’re now eyeing another winger suggest there’s the possibility of Wilfried Gnonto leaving late on?

Could there be any more signings at Leeds?

If the Tanaka and Schmidt deals go through then that’s a central midfielder and a full-back signed, which are two positions Leeds desperately wanted.

Now, with a winger being eyed that’ll see both the right and the left stocked well at Leeds.

However, there’s always the worry that Wilfried Gnonto could leave Elland Road before the window shuts, which would leave a gaping hole.

The Italian has operated through the middle as a number 10 at times this season. This has almost brought him back to life as he was one of the standout performers against Sheffield Wednesday.

We wait to see what unfolds throughout deadline day, but one thing we do know is that Leeds look on course to make signings in all the positions they wanted.
