Report: Club working on signing ‘incredible’ Leeds player before Thursday, Marsch has ok’d the deal already
Leeds United winger Ian Poveda is wanted by Blackpool ahead of the transfer deadline on Thursday, according to a report from .
Poveda was enjoying a fine season with Blackburn Rovers last term before he picked up a serious injury just a few months into his time at Ewood Park. Now back at Elland Road and recovered, reports how Blackpool now want to take the 22-year-old on loan.
Dubbed an ‘incredible player’, Poveda has little chance of making an impact at Leeds this season thanks to the new signings Jesse Marsch has made this summer. The arrivals of the likes of Sinisterra and Aaronson have pushed him down the pecking order, while Daniel James is set to stay put as well.

It’s claimed that Marsch has given his blessing to the deal and that Blackpool are indeed pushing to complete a deal for Poveda before Thursday. Any deal would be a loan, with Leeds unlikely to let Poveda go permanently or Blackpool be able to afford the price.
Poveda will be hoping another chance at the Championship allows him to regain form and fitness.
TBR’s View: Leeds Need To Let Poveda Out Again
Poveda was really starting to look the business for Blackburn last year so it was a huge shame when he suffered such a big setback.
For Leeds, it’s now important they get him the right move in order to build up a young player who could easily lose his way if he doesn’t get first-team football.
Poveda is more than capable of doing the business in the Championship and Blackpool have shown in the past they are a club where players can flourish. On the surface, then, this would be a smart move for all parties involved.
