Leeds United fans react to reported plans to expand capacity of Elland Road
Leeds United are celebrating their centenary year and have reportedly marked it by unveiling plans to expand Elland Road’s capacity.
As per , Angus Kinnear has shared his proposal to boost the size of the historic stadium by raising the size of the West Stand in line with the East.
He said: “In our centenary year we’re very proud to announce a partnership with the council on two initiatives. They fall under the title of Vision Elland Road. You notice that is a far cry from the Beeston we see today.
“Part of it is around the stadium and taking our stadium up to 50,000 and turning it into a true ground which can compete with other stadiums in the Premier League and in Europe.”

While some fans may say that investment in the squad should always come before spending on the stadium and nothing is concrete yet, excitement is building among the fans.
Plenty of them took to Twitter to celebrate Kinnear’s plans, dreaming of watching Premier League football in an even bigger ground.
The supporters let themselves get excited about the prospect of an even bigger arena in which to watch their side and we’ve had a look at the best of the reaction…
Hopefully taking the boxes out of the SS is part of those plans

Must have some backing as that will be big money! Cue FA and EFL now trying to add that to FFP.
