Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Ian Poveda’s display
A number of Leeds United have taken to Twitter to comment on Ian Poveda’s display during the Whites’ 3-1 win at Derby County on Sunday.
The game saw Poveda make his first start for Marcelo Bielsa’s side following his January move. He has made a handful of substitute appearances for the promotion-winners, but the fans had been yet to get a proper look at the youngster.

There would have been plenty of intrigue. But Poveda seemed to give supporters a lot to smile about as he enjoyed an extremely bright full debut.
He looked lively down Leeds’s right flank throughout the game at Pride Park. The former Manchester City trainee was not afraid to run with the ball or take an opponent on.

And it briefly appeared that he was about to bag his first goal for the club. He latched onto Tyler Roberts’s pass across the box and produced a smart finish into the far corner during the first-half. However, the flag was raised with Poveda coming back from an offside position.
He continued to look a threat after the break. And he was involved in the build-up to Leeds’s equaliser, which came from Pablo Hernandez immediately after Derby had broken the deadlock.
It is going to probably be a lot more challenging for Poveda to break into the side next season. But the fans were delighted with what they saw from him on his full debut.
They believe that he has shown that he can become a more established player for Bielsa’s side in the future.
Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Poveda’s display…
I like this Poveda. Big potential. Might need to spend a bit of time in the gym this summer, could do with being a bit stronger, especially at his age with and lack of experience, but I like him.
