Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Alfie McCalmont reports

While many Leeds United fans may have expected Alfie McCalmont to leave on loan this summer, few would have predicted that the midfielder would be offered the chance to move to the Balearic Islands and play in Spain’s third tier for the coming season.

The Northern Ireland international made his senior debut for the Whites last term. However, he did not make an appearance for Marcelo Bielsa’s side beyond August, and he did not get the chance to make his Championship bow.

The club missed out on promotion to the second tier last season. It remains to be seen how the Whites respond to the offer. But it is noted that McCalmont wants to play senior football next term.

And some believe that it would be a fantastic opportunity. There should certainly be little doubt about the chances of McCalmont playing regularly.

However, others are concerned that he would be better off elsewhere. Some have their doubts about how much such a move would prepare him for life in the Leeds first-team.

Meanwhile, others have insisted that he should be sent out on loan to a club playing at a higher level.

Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reported bid for McCalmont…
