Leeds United fans react as Che Adams helps send Southampton top of Premier League
Leeds United so nearly signed Che Adams in January.
the Whites were on the hunt for another frontman to help them secure promotion to the Premier League. Arsenal had just cancelled Eddie Nketiah’s loan agreement with the club and the Southampton man was struggling to shine in the top-flight.
The report from suggested Leeds were hoping to sign Adams on loan until the end of the season, with the obligation to then buy him in a permanent move for a fee in the region of £20 million.
In the end, Southampton kept Adams at St Mary’s, as the forward began to find his form on the South Coast. Leeds signed Jean-Kevin Augustin, a deal that did not go to plan.

This weekend, Adams spoke about his near move in January, it was ‘a great choice’.
He followed up those statements with a starring performance as Southampton went top of the Premier League.
His goal helped secure a 2-0 win for Southampton which took Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team to the league’s summit for the first time.
Undoubtedly, Adams is a player that would have suited the Leeds United style of play and some fans of the West Yorkshire side were busy wondering what might have been had Leeds had got hold of their man in the last January transfer window.
I can see why Marcelo wanted Che Adams . I like him. He’s like the young Troy Deeney.

When you look at players Leeds were linked with properly not some rumour to me Che Adams is the best of the lot. He’d have been some signing for us had it materialised

Imagine if Leeds had Adams instead of Bamford. 😍

He’s like a pit bull and he can’t half finish as we’ve just seen

Aye he’d have been a great addition, easy to see why Southampton wouldn’t let him go, hopefully the gaffer can mould young Geldhart into a similar type of player
