Leeds United chief Andrea Radrizzani ‘speechless’ at FA ruling

Leeds United fans are up in arms today as it became clear Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane will not receive any retrospective punishment for his actions in the recent melee between the two sets of players.

Videos emerged of the Ireland international appearing to thump Mateusz Klich in the chest. But whilst Patrick Bamford has been handed a two-game ban for deception, and rightly so, Hourihane escaped punishment.

no unanimous decision could be made over the evidence presented.

That means Hourihane gets off without punishment. Clearly, that has not gone down well with Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani.

He took to Twitter to respond to the news earlier this evening and is clearly not happy:

Leeds fans will undoubtedly agree with the Italian, as the evidence appears to be fairly clear in the videos being shared online.

The West Yorkshire club will now have to play the first-leg of their play-off semi-final without the striker and that may come back to haunt them.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, will be at a full complement for those. Neutrals will no doubt hope these two end up meeting in the final.
