Leeds United are very ‘close’ to signing 28-year-old defender on deadline day
Leeds United have work to do on transfer deadline day.
The Whites have been scouring the transfer market all month long looking for new options – particularly in the defence, but, as of yet, nothing has come off.
Centre-backs and left-backs have been linked, but the most glaring hole in Leeds’ squad is certainly at right-back.
Indeed, after letting both Djed Spence and Luke Ayling leave earlier in the window, Leeds are really lacking depth at right-back at the moment.
Luckily, there’s still time to make something happen in the transfer window, and help could be on the way.
, Leeds could well end up signing Connor Roberts before tonight’s deadline, claiming that a deal is close.

This is a move that makes a lot of sense.
Roberts isn’t first-choice at Burnley as things stand, he has tons of experience in the Championship, and he’d be able to settle at Leeds with ease.

Indeed, not only is this move convenient as it would allow Bradley to stay in the north of England, he’d also be joining a squad packed full of players he knows well.
As a Wales international, Roberts will know the likes of Dan James, Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu very well, and it shouldn’t take him too long to bed in at Leeds if he does make this move.
Of course, the clock is ticking, so Leeds will have to hurry up and finalise everything if they want to get this deal done, but, by. The sounds of it, there could be a bit of movement at Elland Road on the final day of the transfer window.
