Leeds United are now interested in signing a player Marcelo Bielsa called ‘very good’

Leeds United need to be busy in the final two weeks of the transfer window.

Leeds have lost numerous key players this summer as the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter have departed.

There’s an argument to make that none of these players have been replaced yet, but Leeds certainly haven’t replaced Summerville at this point.

Leeds are scouring the market for potential Summerville replacements, and according to Mike McGrath, there’s a player from the Championship on their radar.

Jack Clarke is on Leeds’ radar

According to McGrath, Leeds United are well aware of Jack Clarke’s situation as they look to replace Summerville.

Of course, Clarke is a player Leeds fans will know very well.

The winger came up through Leeds’ academy and he initially made his name at Elland Road before joining Tottenham.

Since then, Clarke has joined Sunderland where he’s rebuilt his reputation after a poor spell at Spurs.

What Marcelo Bielsa has said about Jack Clarke

Clarke could be re-joining Leeds, and that is a very interesting transfer.

Leeds fans still have a soft spot for Clarke after his first spell with the club.

Clarke was a bit of a revelation when he broke into the Leeds team under Marcelo Bielsa, and .

“I am particularly happy with Jack’s performance, the answers he gave us were very difficult and he had no problem in expressing his personality or skills,” Bielsa said after Clarke’s debut performance.

“We give a lot of credit to what the Academy brings to the first team, so I would like to thank the academy for all of the good players they are giving us.

“Jack is a young player at 17-years-old and he has very good skills.”

Bielsa knew that Clarke was a talent, and while he did leave Leeds that summer, he could now reclaim his throne as Leeds’ star player if he comes in to replace Summerville.

This is a deal that would make a lot of sense.
