Leeds transfer: Whites reportedly made late move for 25-year-old as PL rival prepare for big loss; but he’s headed elsewhere
Leeds United made a late attempt to sign Angus Gunn in the transfer window, that the Whites are set to miss out to their Premier League rival.
Gunn looks set to be on the move after a difficult spell at Southampton. He arrived at St Mary’s off the back of a brilliant loan at Norwich City.

Unfortunately, he failed to live up to the the Saints paid for him. And now, the club look set to make a substantial loss.
, the Canaries expect to sign the 25-year-old for £5 million ahead of their top flight return.
Interestingly, it is claimed that Leeds made a late play to try and sign the former England under-21 international.

That may not come as a surprise to the Elland Road faithful. Kiko Casilla continues to divide fans. Many would love the club to sign a different backup – as good as Casilla actually was when he did play.
But they also have a bit of history with Gunn. ahead of Bielsa’s first season that the goalkeeper was a loan target.
Those hopes were dashed with Southampton signing him permanently. But following promotion.
Once again, no move would take place. And Leeds fans may be relieved that they are set to miss out this time also.
Gunn clearly talented, but Leeds transfer would have been gamble from Whites
If Gunn can rediscover his form from his Norwich loan, he could be an outstanding signing for Daniel Farke’s men.
However, that looks a big if right now. He struggled on the south coast. And he did not have the easiest time on loan at Stoke last season.
From a footballing perspective, Leeds will surely be better off keeping Casilla.
Of course, fans may be hoping that another goalkeeper target comes on their radar.
But missing out on Gunn does not appear to be the worst news, by any means.
