Leeds stars Gjanni Alioski and Adam Forshaw send messages to Pontus Jansson
Pontus Jansson has confirmed on Instagram that he has undergone surgery on an ankle injury that has limited the Brentford defender from playing at 100 per cent of late – and two Leeds players have responded on Instagram.
Jansson, who turns 30 next month, has endured a difficult season with Championship side Brentford. The Swede, who is Thomas Frank’s captain, has only managed to play 14 league games due to numerous injuries.
Now, the ex-Leeds defender is set for a delayed spell on the sidelines again after going under the knife to correct an ankle problem. Brentford are hopeful that he will return to action during the run-in come April and May.
The former Torino and Malmo giant confirmed the operation on Instagram. He posted a picture that sees his ankle in heavy strapping, while standing on crutches – and is now set for rehabilitation during the next few months.
Having suffered the ankle issue some time ago, Jansson’s injury is similar to that of Robin Koch – who picked up a knee issue against Liverpool but only underwent surgery after the loss to Chelsea, playing the games in between.
Jansson is still well-liked after his three-year stint at Leeds and both Gjanni Alioski and Adam Forshaw – the latter of whom has been on the sidelines for more than a year – responded to his post on Instagram.
