Leeds stars and Robert Snodgrass send messages to Sheffield United star Oli McBurnie

Oli McBurnie came off the Sheffield United bench to slam home an equaliser for Sheffield United late on and draw 3-3 with Manchester United at Bramall Lane – and the Scottish striker has posted on Instagram after the match.

Leeds-born McBurnie, 23, joined Sheffield United in the summer from Swansea City for a club-record £20million (). He has since been in and out of the side under Chris Wilder, being used as more of a bit-part player.

He scored his second goal for the club on Sunday evening, after Manchester United had come from two goals down to go ahead 3-2. John Fleck and Lys Mousset gave the Blades the lead, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side came roaring back.

Goals from academy trio Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford saw United take the lead before McBurnie struck. The striker posted on Instagram after the match, declaring his delight to find the back of the net.

that Leeds wanted to sign McBurnie in the summer of 2018 after a stunning loan spell at Barnsley. Instead, Swansea kept the striker and he has since shone – earning a big-money move to Yorkshire, but with Sheffield United.

Indeed, McBurnie is a very popular character and has already earned caps for Scotland. His national teammate and ex-Leeds star Robert Snodgrass commented on his Instagram post, as did Leeds players Luke Ayling and Barry Douglas.
