Leeds star Stuart Dallas sends message to Rangers midfielder Steven Davis

Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas sent a heartfelt message on Twitter to Rangers midfielder Steven Davis, who reached a major individual landmark on Thursday night.

Davis, 35, became Northern Ireland’s most capped player of all time by making his 120th senior appearance for his country and surpassing Pat Jennings’ record in the process.

The Rangers ace marked it in a huge game too, as Northern Ireland narrowly beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 4-3 on penalties in a European Championship qualifier after the game was level at 1-1 after extra-time.

They will now face Slovakia in the play-off final for a spot in next year’s European Championships, which would be a great achievement for Ian Baraclough’s side.

Dallas and Davis, who are two of the key players in the Norther Ireland ranks, both completed 90 minutes in Thursday’s nervous encounter.

The Leeds ace posted a message on social media afterwards to congratulate his international teammate Davis and claimed it’s “an honour to share the pitch” with him.

TBR’s View:

Veteran Davis is still at the core of the Northern Ireland side with his experience vital and it’s the case for his club Rangers too, as manager Steven Gerrard rates him extremely highly.

The central midfielder is a composing figure that gets through so much hard work for his side and is such a reliable performer.

He’s going to be vital this season as Rangers try to win their first piece of silverware under Gerrard, meanwhile 29-year-old teammate Dallas is a crucial player for a Leeds team that are taking the Premier League by storm this year following their return to the top-flight.
