Report: Leeds star Raphinha is now open to move to London despite Whites rejecting £50m bid

Leeds United have rejected a huge £50m bid from West Ham for Raphinha, but the Brazilian winger is open to a move to London, should the Elland Road outfit allow it.

Crucially, however, it is claimed that Raphinha will not be forcing a move away from Leeds, and instead will only go should the Whites decide to cash in. That’s according to anyway, who have ran a report today claiming the Brazilian is indeed wanted by West Ham.

On a more worrying note for Leeds, however, also claim that Raphinha is unlikely to sign a new contract at Elland Road. His current deal expires in 2024, meaning the Whites will be in a tricky situation come the summer months in terms of getting a big fee for their man.

Raphinha has been the standout player for Leeds once again this season. His goals and assists, as well as some explosive performances on the wing, have seen the likes of Liverpool also cast admiring glances. But the Reds’ pending signing of Luis Diaz, should ease fears over that move.

TBR’s View: Leeds Need To Keep Raphinha Or Sell For Huge Fee

This is the nightmare scenario for Leeds really. They need to ensure they see the best of Raphinha while he is there but on the flip side, they also need to ensure they get maximum profit if they do sell.

Raphinha has been outstanding and there’ll be an acceptance among some at Leeds that they were always likely to lose him eventually. The issue now is, when do they decide to sell if that’s the case.

Leeds are building under Marcelo Bielsa as we know and Raphinha is vital. However, the club could do a lot with the fee he might bring, so it makes for a huge decision from Victor Orta and co. 90Min claims the bid is around £40m and £10m in add-ons. It has been swiftly rejected.
