Leeds star posts positive update ahead of Tottenham clash, on Instagram
Junior Firpo has delivered a one-word injury update, posting a message to Leeds fans on Instagram ahead of Sunday’s clash against Tottenham.
Firpo, 25, has been sidelined with a muscle injury – missing his side’s last four Premier League matches. It has seen Leeds have to juggle the pack.
With Stuart Dallas replacing him on the left, Leeds have lost a body in midfield. In the last game, Adam Forshaw returned to the starting line-up.
Now, Firpo could be about to declare himself fit ahead of Sunday’s clash – hinting that he could be available once again. He has been out six weeks.
Indeed, Firpo’s post on Instagram will be exciting for Leeds fans – who are desperate to see their signing from Barcelona gain some momentum.
Firpo posts injury update, could he start for Leeds v Tottenham?
We will know more when Marcelo Bielsa sits in front of the press later this week. But realistically, Firpo will not be thrown in at the deep end.
To go from no game time, to facing Antonio Conte’s Tottenham – after six weeks on the sidelines – is unlikely. Firpo might get a substitute outing.
He might even play in the Under-23 side before facing Spurs. The second string play host to Chelsea on Friday, at 1pm in Premier League 2.
It all depends on what Firpo means by “soon”. Does he mean this weekend, or does he mean that he is close to a return? Time will tell.
