Leeds star Mateusz Klich responds to fan on Twitter when asked what Jonny Howson told him

Leeds United moved a step closer to securing automatic promotion to the Premier League on Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough – and Mateusz Klich has responded to a fan on Twitter, when asked what Jonny Howson told him.

Klich, 29, scored his fifth goal of the season as the Whites earned a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough – their third consecutive 1-0 victory. It has seen Marcelo Bielsa’s side move five points clear of third-placed Fulham.

On Wednesday night, Leeds came up against Thorp Arch academy product and ex-Leeds captain Jonny Howson – who played more than 200 times for his boyhood club before moving on to Norwich City and then Middlesbrough.

Some fans have suggested that Howson and Klich shared a few words after the full-time whistle on Wednesday night, and Klich responded to a Polish-speaking supporter on Twitter, who asked: “What did Howson tell you?”

Klich replied with “Get it done”, most likely in regards to securing promotion.

TBR’s view – What are the obstacles Leeds must overcome?

The last three games have shown supporters and pundits alike that Leeds are back to their defensive best. In 19 wins this season, Leeds have kept a staggering 14 clean sheets. Defending as they have done for the past three games is crucial.

What Leeds must improve on – and it goes without saying – is their ability to convert chances. Patrick Bamford has now failed to score in his last six Championship games, while Jean-Kevin Augustin is sidelined with a hamstring strain.

Keeping their best players fit is a challenge that must be managed, but also finding the goals are the two most important barriers to promotion between now and May. Can Leeds do it? They’re edging closer.
