Leeds signing Robin Koch surely puts an end to Odsonne Edouard pursuit – TBR View

Leeds United are set to complete a deal to sign bring German defender, Robin Koch, to the club, with of a £13m+ deal said to be nearing completion.

The Whites have already made a number of signings this summer. Indeed, according to , they have already hit the £50m mark and that is before you take into account the signing of Koch.

Surely, then, this means the club won’t be signing Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman is one of the hottest properties in Europe thanks to his goalscoring exploits and Leeds, like others, have been named as interested parties. (

But with Marcelo Bielsa set to take his summer spending to over £60m, are Leeds really going to push towards the £100m mark? It’s hard to see it happening, in all honesty.

A need to be ambitious but sensible, Leeds can’t afford big mistakes – TBR View

But there also has to be an element of being sensible when it comes to splashing the cash. We’ve seen before how clubs can overspend and then suffer. Indeed, fellow newly-promoted side, Fulham, are a prime example of this from a few seasons back.

So while signing Edouard might be the perfect signing and bring goals, it also represents a massive risk. And with £27m also being spent on Valencia star, Rodrigo, it’s simply impossible to see how the Whites pull another £30m out of the bag to land the Celtic ace.
