Leeds should turn their attention from Jack Harrison to Patrick Roberts
Leeds United will reportedly find it difficult to re-sign attacker Jack Harrison in the summer following his season-long loan spell at Elland Road this campaign.
, the Whites want to bring the 22-year-old to the club on a permanent basis during the summer transfer window.
But the report details they could be priced out of a move, as his parent club Manchester City value him between £15million and £20million.
It’s understood that Leeds could try another loan move for the winger, but Premier League champions Manchester City are less inclined to that.
Meanwhile, it’s believed that a number of top-flight clubs in England have held initial talks with the player.
Harrison was a key player for Leeds during the course of the season, as they agonisingly lost in the Championship play-off semi-finals.
The wide man managed four goals and four assists in 42 games, while it was his tireless work-rate and defensive cover that made him so important.
But if Leeds can’t sign Harrison they should consider another Manchester City player.
Patrick Roberts will return to Manchester City in the summer following a loan with Spanish club Girona and he could be an ideal target for Leeds.
The 22-year-old is a left-footed winger built in the same mould as Harrison and could be a like-for-like replacement.
He’s had a frustrating year out on loan with Girona, but previously showed his true quality with Celtic in Scotland.
The attacker scored 18 times and provided 26 assists in 78 games for the Scottish giants.
Roberts would bring a similar dynamic to Leeds that Harrison has in the last year, but is perhaps a better goal threat and someone that should crop up on Marcelo Bielsa’s radar.
