Leeds should switch focus to Josh King amid Michy Batshuayi reports
that Leeds United are weighing up whether to sign Michy Batshuayi this summer having been offered the Chelsea striker for around £22.6 million.
Batshuayi is a player that Marcelo Bielsa knows well. The pair worked together at Marseille. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old’s record at Chelsea makes a potential bid seem to be a major gamble.
Batshuayi has made just five Premier League starts for the Blues. And given his reported asking price, it would be little surprise to see the Elland Road faithful implore the club to consider other targets instead.
And perhaps one name that should be on Leeds’s radar is another forward who was playing in the Premier League last season and is reportedly, potentially available for a similar fee.

The Sun’s report noted that Bournemouth want at least £25 million for King.
So if Leeds are willing to pay over £20 million for a forward this summer, perhaps King would be a better target.
He is a couple of years older than Batshuayi, and will be slightly more expensive.
But, unlike the Belgian, he does have a proven record in the Premier League. He scored six goals and provided four assists last season.
In total, he has scored 48 times at the highest level. He has not always been prolific. But, like so many of Bielsa’s squad, he is a player who offers plenty of versatility. He can play up front or in a slightly deeper role.
A move for either Batshuayi or King would come with risk. But perhaps it would be a more calculated gamble to pursue the latter this summer.
