Leeds should reignite interest in Liverpool’s Harry Wilson this summer

Leeds United may have a head-start on their promotion rivals when it comes to making potential plans for the Premier League after coming agonisingly close to going up last season.

The Whites find themselves in a fantastic position again this term. Marcelo Bielsa’s side sit top of the Championship and seven points clear of third.

So perhaps Leeds may be making some plans that will be needed if they do go up. And some of those plans may look similar to what may have been in the offing 12 months ago.

that Leeds were interested in Harry Wilson after his outstanding campaign on loan with Derby County.

that Liverpool wanted £25 million for Wilson. And they have been vindicated for wanting such a substantial fee with the Wales international scoring seven times in the top flight after joining Bournemouth on loan.

His form with the Cherries has proved a point to his parent club. that he feels that he has a big ‘decision’ to make on his future this summer should his path to the Reds first-team remain blocked.

And with that in mind, Leeds should try their luck if promoted and ask about whether Wilson is available.

If Jurgen Klopp is unable to provide assurances, Wilson may be keen to find a permanent home elsewhere. And having attracted interest from Leeds in the past, he may be open to moving to Elland Road.

The 22-year-old looks to be an incredible talent. And it would be a huge coup for any club if they could lure him away from Liverpool.

Bielsa has reportedly taken an interest in Wilson in the past. Perhaps there would be no better way for Leeds to celebrate going up, if they get across the line, than to enquire about the Liverpool man’s availability.
